How to play Blackjack Blackjack, which is an Ace and any 10 or face card on the original 2 cards dealt, pays 1 & 1/2 times your bet. You can draw as many cards as you like until exceeding a point value of 21, which is called a "bust" and the dealer automatically wins. If your hand is the same point value as the dealer's hand, it is considered a "push" (tie) - you do not win or lose. If the dealer's hand exceeds 21 (busts), or if your point total is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win! Kings, Queens and Jacks count as 10. Aces count as 1 or 11. All other cards are counted at their face value. The dealer starts the game by giving each player, including themselves, two cards. The dealer's hand always has one card face-up and one card face-down. If you are satisfied with the total of your two cards, you "stand" (draw no more cards), by waving your hand over the cards. If not, you can "hit" (draw one or more cards, one at a time) by making a slight movement with your hand toward you. You may "hit" until you feel that the total point value of your hand is closer to 21 than the cards the dealer will draw. After each player has taken their turn, the dealer turns up their "hole" (face-down) card. Once the dealer's hand totals 17 or more the dealer must "stand" (take no more cards). Blackjack Terminology
