1. How can I audition? Participants must be 21 and a "The Club" member to audition. You may sign up for a free membership to "The Club" when you submit your registration form. To guarantee an audition, you may submit your registration form at Cypress Bayou Casino at "The Club" booths between August 13 and August 28. If you do not pre-register, the first 30 people to register each night of auditions will be able guaranteed an audition. If time is available, more people may register to audition. 2. When and where will auditions be held? Auditions will be held in ROX in Shorty's at Cypress Bayou Casino on Friday, September 5, Friday, September 12 and Friday, September 19. If you pre-registered, your specific audition date will be posted on August 29 on the http://www.cypressbayou.com/ website and all Regent websites. You must register between 7pm and 8pm to audition. Live auditions will from 8:30pm-10pm. 3. What do I need to bring to auditions? Participants will need a valid driver's license or state/federal photo ID and their "The Club" card. Participants must specify the song that they are going to sing for auditions. However, all auditions must be acapella, no musical accompaniment is allowed during auditions. Registrants will have up to 1 minute to sing. 4. Can my friends come to the auditions? Yes, part of the judging process is audience participation. There will be free admission to Rox from 7pm-10pm each night of the auditions. 5. How do I advance to the Semi Finals? Audition results will be posted at on http://www.cypressbayou.com/, all Regent websites and at "The Club" booths on Tuesday, September 30. Entrants are responsible for checking to see if they advance to the Semi Final round. The top 72 scores will advance. In case of a tie in 72nd place, both will advance. 6. On what measures will I be judged? Contestants will be judged on the following categories: singing ability, stage presence, originality, and audience appeal. Each contestant will be judged in each of the previous categories on a scale from 1 - 10 in percentages. The judges will consist of on air personalities from 99.9 KTDY, 97.3 The Dawg, Planet 96.5, 105.1 KPEL, ESPN 1420, 960 The Gator, representatives from KATC TV3, and other representatives from the local community including local rock stars. 7. Can I participate if I have ever signed a recording contract? No, participants must be amateurs who have never signed a recording contract.
