Frequently Asked Questions 1. How can I audition? Participants must be 21 and be a "The Club" member to audition. You may sign up for a free membership to "The Club" when you submit your registration form. To guarantee an audition, you may submit your registration form at Cypress Bayou Casino at "The Club" booths between August 19 and September 3. Didn't pre-register, the first 50 people to register each audition night will entered into that night's auditions. 2. When and where will auditions be held? Auditions will be held in ROX Nightclub at Cypress Bayou Casino and Shorty's on Friday, September 11 and Friday, September 25 from 8:30pm - 10pm. If you pre-registered, an audition date and time will be posted at http://www.cypressbayou.com/ . 3. What do I need to bring to auditions? Participants will need a valid driver's license or state/federal photo ID and their "The Club" card. Participants must specify the song that they are going to sing when you register. All entrants must sing acapella, no musical accompaniment or enhancement will be permitted during auditions. Entrants will have 1 minute to audition. 4. Can my friends come to the auditions? Yes, part of the judging process is audience participation. There will be free admission to Rox from 7pm-9:30pm each night of the auditions. 5. How do I advance to the Semi Finals? Audition results will be posted on http://www.cypressbayou.com/, all Regent websites and at "The Club" booths on Tuesday, September 29. Entrants are responsible for checking to see if they advance to the Semi Final round. The top 72 scores will advance. In case of a tie in 72nd place, both will advance. 6. On what measures will I be judged? Contestants will be judged on the following categories: vocal capability and maturity, stage presence, originality and audience appeal. Each contestant will be judged in each of the previous categories on a scale from 1 - 10 in percentages. All judges will be chosen by Cypress Bayou Casino. Judges will include representatives from local media including Regent Broadcasting, KATC TV3 as well as community and band leaders. 7. Can I participate if I have ever signed a recording contract? No, participants must be amateurs who have never signed a recording contract.
