Cypress Bayou Casino's Chef Scott McCue Wins Gold a Fete Rouge

August 23, 2014 - Baton Rouge, LA – Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel’s Executive Chef, Scott McCue, won the gold medal in the meat category at this past weekend's 2014 Fete Rouge.  The annual event is a Louisiana celebration of wine and food and is presented by the Baton Rouge Epicurean Society.  McCue’s winning dish was a wild mushroom stuffed beef tenderloin en croute, which is filled with sautéed wild mushrooms and wrapped in seasoned puff pastry served with sauce au poive. McCue’s dish was served with turned baby vegetables and honey rosemary potatoes.

 

“I love local foods and finding new and interesting ways to present them is always a challenge.  To be recognized at this prestigious event was such an honor,” said McCue.

 

“Scott McCue is one of the best chef’s in Louisiana and we are certainly proud of the dishes he creates for our restaurants,” said Anthony Patrone, CEO and General Manager of Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel.  “This latest honor is a testament to his talent as a true culinary artist and we look forward to showcasing his work for many years to come.”

 

Born and raised in southern Arizona, McCue worked in various upscale restaurants and resorts. He attended culinary classes at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York then moved to south Louisiana in 1995 to open Mr. Lester’s Steakhouse. In 2005, he left Mr. Lester’s to become Executive Sous Chef of Cypress Bayou Casino. In 2011 took over as Executive Chef of Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel, overseeing all eight, food outlet kitchens. 

 

Chef McCue is a member of the American Culinary Federation since 1996 and a founding member of the Atchafalaya Basin Chapter of The American Culinary Federation since 1999. Competing in culinary competitions in Louisiana has earned him approximately 115 medals: 47 Gold, 39 Silver and 29 Bronze. He has won best of show in Culinary Classic competitions in Shreveport 2007, Lafayette 2007 and 2013 and in Baton Rouge 2000 and 2009.

CBCH's Management Team takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Boz Scaggs and .38 Special

Charenton, LA - Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel made a major announcement this morning about its entertainment lineup for the second half of 2014.
 
Boz Scaggs will headline in The Pavilion on August 15.  He gained fame in the 1960s as a guitarist and lead singer with the Steve Miller Band, and in the 1970s with several solo Top 20 hit singles in the United States, including the well-known hits "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle."  He is also widely known for creating the iconic love song "Look What You've Done For Me" from the moving Urban Cowboy.
 
.38 Special will appear on October 24.  Influenced heavily by Southern Rock, .38 Special first became know for their song "Hold On Loosely" (1981).  They followed it with hits "Caught Up in You,"  "If I'd Been the One", "Back Where You Belong" and "Teacher Teacher."  .38 Special has toured with Lynyrd Skynrd, Hank Williams Jr., Trace Adkins, REO Speedwagon and Styx.

Cypress Bayou Announces 4th of July Weekend Lineup

Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel announced today its entertainment lineup for July 4th weekend. The fun starts Thursday, July 3rd with The Village People on stage in the Pavilion. Then Saturday night, country pop stars Sawyer Brown will headline with a show filled with three decades of tunes.

 

“We are bringing in two big acts for the 4th of July Holiday weekend to entertain our guests. The Village People remain one of the most crowd-pleasing acts on tour today.  With songs that are still played in clubs and stadiums around the world, we are starting the weekend with pure fun,” said Anthony Patrone, CEO and General Manager of Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel.

 

The Village People are well known for their on-stage costumes depicting American cultural stereotypes and their catchy tunes, including their trademark "Macho Man", "Go West", "In the Navy", and their biggest hit, "Y.M.C.A.". They have sold upwards of 100 million records worldwide.

 

Sawyer Brown, one of the longest lasting groups in country music, is known for hits such as "Betty's Bein' Bad" and "Step That Step." Sawyer Brown has been a fan favorite since the 1980’s and is a mainstay of the country-music scene. The group has three certified gold albums and one certified platinum album to its name, and three Sawyer Brown songs have reached No. 1 on the country charts.

Charenton, LA – Scott McCue, Executive Chef at Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel, has been selected to compete in this year’s Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off. McCue is the only Acadiana chef that will be featured at the prestigious event later this month.

To be singled out as one of the exceptional seafood chefs in a state that is world-renowned for its seafood is humbling. New Chitimacha Louisiana Open Trophy Unveiled

Broussard, LA - The new Chitimacha Louisiana Open trophy was unveiled this morning at a press event at Le Triomphe. Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel CEO and General Manager Anthony Patrone and Tournament Director Danny Jones were on hand to present the new look.

 

"With this being the only Louisiana event on the web.com tour, we felt it was important to make the trophy more representative of our state.  This is the first time the trophy has changed in more than 15 years and Lee Michaels did a great job creating the look and feel we wanted.  We are also excited that Monday morning our new champion and new trophy will be seen in Times Square on the Nasdaq board," said Patrone.

Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel Celebrity Hole-In-One Challenge Names First Winner

Broussard, LA - The Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel Inaugural Celebrity Hole-In-One Challenge teed off this afternoon at Le Triomphe with representatives from local media outlets taking a swing for charity. Today's event was part of the kickoff for the 23rd Chitimacha Louisiana Open presented by Nacher. While none of the participants made the 181 yard hole-in-one to win $2500 for the charity of his or her choice, Dave Schultz of Delta Media's 103.7 The Game hit the shot that landed closest to the hole and won $500 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

 

"We appreciate the participation of our media partners, who came out and had fun for a good cause for this inaugural event. It was a little windy and cool, but the crowd was great and our local celebrity participants were really good sports and tried their best for the charity of their choice," said Anthony Patrone, CEO and General Manager of Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel. "We look forward to making this an annual event to kick off tournament week and giving away even more money to charity as part of our commitment to the people of Acadiana."

CHARENTON, La. – December 3, 2013 – The Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana has announced that industry veteran Anthony Patrone has been named General Manager and CEO for Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel.   Mr. Patrone is a highly regarded and long time executive in Indian Gaming with more than 25 years of experience in the casino industry. In his position, Patrone will lead a team of over 1,100 dedicated employees at South Louisiana’s premier casino as it celebrates its 20th Anniversary in December.

Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel Promotes Give-2-Win, benefiting local food banks

Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel announced today that they will hold a Give-2-Win promotion, benefiting local food banks, on November 7, 14 and 21 from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel is proud to support local food banks through engaging in donations to help feed Acadiana's hungry. About 1 in 6 people in America face hunger. Food insecurity exists everywhere in America. In 2011, 17.9 million households were food insecure. More than 50.1 million Americans struggle to put food on the table and more than 1 in 5 children are at risk of hunger.

 

"Partnering with our local food banks and providing incentives for our guests is a monumental undertaking and one that Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel is not taking lightly; we want to make a difference in the surrounding communities," remarked Nancy Herrington, Executive Director of Marketing and Player Development. Hunger continues to persist in our local communities, so during the month of November guests may deposit canned goods at any of the Club Cypress booths to receive one entry into exclusive drawings. CHARENTON, La. – October 9, 2013 – Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel proudly hosts the 6th Annual MDA Passport for a Cure Gala on Saturday, November 16 in The Pavilion. The annual fundraiser is themed "Casino Royale", which will feature catering provided by Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel's award-winning Chefs, drinks, and entertainment by Louisiana LeRoux. "MDA provides hope to those fighting the disease in the Acadiana area who are living with the neuromuscular disease. Our efforts make life a little bit easier for the families and we hope to someday find a cure," stated Tiffany Estes, Executive Director of MDA of Acadiana. MDA of Acadiana serves over 800 families in Southwestern Louisiana by providing summer camps for the children, clinic visits, physical therapy, equipment assistance and research on the disease. "Our signature events, such as our annual Gala, help to continue to provide benefits such as these to our families.
